Proxycap information

The required application Proxycap, is a third party application and is not created or affiliated with WoW Tunnels in any way. There are other alternatives to Proxycap but we recommend Proxycap as it is tested and stable.

Technical Explanation:

  • Putty Tray is a SSH client that will set up the connection between your computer and WoW Tunnels' servers and act as a local proxy server.
  • Proxycap is an application that will force applications that doesn't have built-in proxy support (such as AION) use a proxy server specified. In this case, it will use the proxy server created by Putty.

Guide

  1. Download Putty with WoW Tunnels server list from here.
    Download the AION Proxycap ruleset from here.
    Download Proxycap from the Proxycap download page. The first two downloads on the page is what you're after, not the service edition. Choose either 32-bit or 64-bit depending on your Windows version.
  2. Unzip wowtunnels.zip onto your desktop. You should see a folder called wowtunnels.
  3. Install Proxycap. Once installed, right click the Proxycap icon in the system tray and click "Preferences".
  4. Click the Ruleset Tab on the left, then click "Load" to load the settings, choose "wowtunnels_aion_ruleset.prs", the ruleset you downloaded in step 1.

  5. Check the rules are there in the Rules tab on the left. Should be something like in the screenshot below.

  6. Open the wowtunnels_aion folder and click on putty.exe. Double click on a server and type in your username and password to join.
  7. Note: You won't see your password being typed out, but just type it and press enter. Upon connecting you should see the welcome message.
