High'er' latency.

Talk about problems with your World of Warcraft game, that is not related to WoW Tunnels. This is NOT a forum for help with WoW Tunnels.

High'er' latency.

Postby momorichi on Tue Feb 23, 2010 2:23 pm

I have been experiencing higher then normal latency for my WoW tunnels I have been getting around 400ms or so and i am not sure if its cause i am using the wrong server for my area but it seems to be higher then what I was getting before which was around 350-300 Ive been using the client for awhile and it definitely is easier to what it was before.

Ive been using the normal tunnel 1-15 to play WoW.
Just wondering if its my Internet provider being cheap and slow (because somehow when the home phone rings that interrupts my internet). And yes I am situated in Australia, QLD

Which WoW server do you play on? If you ping the west servers using the client, what kind of results do you get?

Jubei'thos on the Oceanic realms. and I'm getting around 200-210 for practically all the west servers. I also recently have been using Windows 7 as well.

I did use the service before and I was getting around 300ms or so and i was even getting some green latency in WoW but now I am stuck at 400 or so.

and all my tunnels ping at 200 which i know I wont get but i didn't think it would double for WoW latency.
so im assuming that perhaps something is blocking it from getting lower ping.

I went back into WoW this time without using WoWtunnels and im getting 500-600 ms

Thought I might comment on this one as well as I am also in QLD, TPG. Raiding 25 mans over the past three weeks using west and aussie 1 and 2 I have noticed spikes and lag of 400 to 800 plus disconnects. Yet if I avoid wowtunnels altogether i get a much lower ping and more stability...

Used to be good before that with pings around 200 - 240.

Server is Dragonblight and I play in non peak times for that server since it is an Aussie guild. Unfortunately your service is unusable to me during raids at the moment.

tracert tunnel1.wowtunnels.com looks good (from 38 ms to 187 to 192)
ping tunnel1.wowtunnels.com (same 193 avg)

Lag during raids usually indicate some sort of performance bottleneck in the network. Usually it happens with poor International traffic however looks like even the Aussie 1 / 2 doesn't help you, which is weird. Using WoW Tunnels require a bit more data being transferred as overheads are higher. Can you perform a speedtest at speedtest.net, choose an Aussie server in Sydney and also a server in Los Angeles, US please. Thanks
